Decide what to write next
Ask your assistant which searches already show your site in Google, where you are close to page 1, and what people ask.
You want your next blog post or page to bring in visitors. Your Search Console data already shows what people search for when Google shows your site. MeasureScale lets your assistant turn that data into a short list of topics worth your time.
Questions to ask
Find quick wins
- “Which searches am I close to page 1 for?”
- “Which of my searches could bring the most extra clicks if I ranked higher?”
- “Which searches show my site often but get few clicks?”
See what people ask
- “Which question-style searches bring people to my blog?”
- “Do long, specific searches do better for me than short ones?”
- “Are more people finding me with full questions than 6 months ago?”
Avoid repeating yourself
- “Do any of my recipe pages compete for the same search?”
- “Which searches find people who don’t know my brand yet?”
A good conversation
Here is an example of how a conversation can go.
- You ask: “Which searches am I close to page 1 for?” The assistant lists searches where your site ranks a little below the top results. These are striking distance searches: you rank just below the top 3 or on page 2, close to the top. Each comes with an estimate of the extra clicks a better ranking could bring.
- You ask: “Which of those are questions?” The assistant points out the searches phrased as questions, such as “how long to proof sourdough”.
- You ask: “Do I already have a page that competes for that search?” The assistant checks whether several of your pages show up for it. If they do, improving one page may be better than writing a new one.
Reading the answer
- The extra clicks are estimates. They use your own site’s click rate at each Google position. They are not a promise.
- Your position is an average over the period. A search that moved during the period can look steadier than it was.
- The estimates mix searches for your brand name with all other searches. Ask for a brand split if you want to see them apart.
- A question-style search is a hint about how people ask. It is not proof that an AI tool showed your page.
- Search Console hides rare searches. The list covers your most-clicked searches, not every search.
Tips
- Start with the quick wins. A page that ranks just below the top often needs an update, not a new article.
- Ask about one section, such as “my blog posts” or “my recipe pages”.
- Ask for a longer date range, such as the last 3 months, if your site is small.
- Ask follow-ups such as “Which page ranks for that search?”
