# See which AI assistants send you visitors

> Ask your assistant how many visits came from AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude, and which ones sent the most.

More people now ask an AI assistant for advice, and some of them click through to your site. MeasureScale lets your assistant count those visits in Google Analytics. It shows which assistants sent visitors and what share of all your visits they make up.

## Questions to ask

### How much AI traffic you get

- "How many visits did AI assistants send to my site last month?"
- "What share of my shop's visits came from ChatGPT, Perplexity and the other AI assistants?"
- "Which AI assistant sent me the most visitors in the last 4 weeks?"

### How it changes

- "Did AI assistants send more visitors in September than in August?"
- "Does Google Analytics see more AI traffic than MeasureScale's list of assistants?"

### Searches that look like AI questions

- "How many of my Google searches are long questions, like the ones people ask a chatbot?"
- "Is the share of question-style searches for my bakery growing month by month?"

## A good conversation

Here is an example of how a conversation can go.

1. You ask: "How much traffic did AI assistants send my site last month?" The assistant lists each assistant that sent visits, with its number of visits and its share of all visits.
2. You ask: "Is that more than the month before?" The assistant runs the same count for the earlier month and compares the two.
3. You ask: "Could I be missing some?" The assistant checks Google Analytics' own AI channel. It tells you if that channel counts more AI visits than the list found.

## Reading the answer

- MeasureScale recognises 13 AI assistants from a list it keeps by hand. The list has not been checked against real Google Analytics data, so treat the numbers as a first estimate.
- A new assistant, or a new web address for an old one, is missing until the list is updated.
- Some assistants and apps don't pass on where the visitor came from. Google Analytics then records the visit as direct traffic, and MeasureScale cannot count it.
- Visits from the AI answers inside Google Search count as normal Google search traffic. This count does not include them.
- A visit is one session on your site. One person who arrives twice counts as two visits.

## Tips

- Name the month or date range you mean. Without one, the assistant uses the last 28 settled days. A settled day is a day Google has finished counting.
- Compare two periods of the same length, such as two full months.
- If your campaign links use a word like "copilot" or "gemini" as their source tag, mention it. Those visits can be counted as AI traffic by mistake.
- Question-style searches are only a hint of AI-style searching. They don't prove that an AI feature showed your page.
